Humanities Lecture Series— Instructor Chih‑Cheng Lai : “Process Experience × Tao & Method”

On July 31, 2025, MicroMetal Technology hosted the third session of its Humanities Lecture series, inviting Chairman Jin‑Chang Wu to share on the theme “Enlightenment Through the Way, Starting from the Middle.”

Chairman Chih‑Chang Wu has long been devoted to public welfare and advocates the spirit of “changing the world through consumption.” The company he founded, SUNFAR, reflects his original vision in both business management and educational philosophy. The name itself carries meaning: “Shun” signifies following one’s nature, while “Fa” represents realizing and creating value.

The lecture began with strategies for sustaining business in a constantly changing market. Chairman Wu cited the I Ching principle: “When things reach their extreme, they must change; change leads to solutions; solutions lead to longevity”, connecting it to corporate transformation cases. He emphasized that when enterprises face challenges, they must have the courage and flexibility to adapt. Breakthroughs emerge from embracing change, and sustainable growth is achieved by resolving issues at their root.

Chairman Wu then discussed that even in a shifting market, companies must maintain a clear positioning and core, unchanging values. The principles of Heaven rewards diligence, Earth rewards kindness, Humanity rewards sincerity reflect natural laws and human ethics. In the workplace, maintaining a mindset of continuous improvement, honing skills and expertise, and approaching situations with sincerity provide enduring motivation for professional growth. Finally, the core values of SUNFAR were introduced: making the best use of resources, creating shared happiness, and exploring future possibilities. This approach allows the organization to break free from conventional frameworks while fostering mutually beneficial collaboration. Through this course, employees not only gained a deeper understanding of the importance of the company’s core values, but were also reminded how to maintain competitiveness in the ever-changing market.
