Humanities Lecture Series— Instructor Chih‑Cheng Lai : “Process Experience × Tao & Method”

On June 26, 2025, MicroMetal hosted its second Humanities Lecture, inviting Mr. Chih‑Cheng Lai to share on “Process Experience × Tao & Method.”Born in 1963 in New Taipei, Mr. Lai began in Mazda’s service department. He later moved to the touch‑panel glass industry; his meticulous, inquisitive approach led to steady promotions and a posting to top management in Suzhou, China.
As lines expanded, the company became a core supplier of glass panels for Apple desktop computers. With insight, sound management, and persistence in tackling on‑site challenges, he turned bottlenecks into opportunities—benefiting both himself and the company. Mr. Lai discussed process development, applications, hands‑on practice, and management; in one case he resolved a production crisis by applying his knowledge of glass and adhesives, saving multiple units. Here, “Tao” means principles and “Fa” means methods: you must truly understand the characteristics of glass and material, so that one can make full use of them. Knowing material properties is key to problem‑solving; only by grasping their essence and application can you quickly find solutions.Case studies show that technology and management go hand in hand; combining shop‑floor experience with clear logic is how you raise process efficiency and product quality.
